The Fluvarium

ABOUT THE FLUVARIUM

The Fluvarium is a public environmental education centre focusing on freshwater and riparian ecology. The word Fluvarium is derived from the latin root “fluv” meaning flowing water. Fluvarium therefore literally means “windows on a stream”, and aptly describes the nine large viewing windows that allow our guests a glimpse into a natural, freshwater habitat.

EXPLORE THE FLUVARIUM

Explore our interative exhibits on river ecology, including the fascinating marine life in stream riffles and shallow pools, and games for kids to enjoy.

Walk along a series of natural water aquariums that showcase fish species found in Newfoundland and Labrador, such as Brown trout, Brooke trout, Atlantic Salmon and other amphibians.

VENUE & CATERING

Whether you need space for a birthday party, a wedding, a conference, or an outdoor meeting, The Fluvarium comes complete with a spacious venue, natural light, free parking, and a stunning panoramic view of Pippy Park.
