The Annual General Meeting of the QVRRDF is Nov. 15 at Noon

The Annual General Meeting of The Quidi Vidi/Rennie’s River Development Foundation is set for Tuesday, Nov. 15 at Noon in the main conference room at The Suncor Energy Fluvarium.

Members of the general public are welcome to attend this public meeting of the QVRRDF.

Annual election of officers and board members will also take place at the AGM.

The Fluvarium is hiring experienced bartender/banquet server

Do you enjoy the night life? Do you thrive in a fast-paced environment? Do you excel at superb customer service? The Quidi Vidi/Rennie’s River Development Foundation is presently seeking an experienced bartender/banquet server.

The QVRRDF through education, advocacy and stewardship inspires the protection, conservation and enhancement of freshwater ecosystems of the Northeast Avalon region of Newfoundland and Labrador.  The QVRRDF operates The Suncor Energy Fluvarium as a public centre for environmental excellence. Our catering operations help support this mandate.

Reporting directly to the Catering Manager, you would be operating The Fluvarium’s bar as needed during catering functions. Our functions range from weddings and business events to Christmas parties and fundraising events.

This posting is for a casual part-time position. Hours will vary and include, day, evening, nights, weekends.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Serving drinks to a variety of customers.
  • Mixing drinks as required.
  • Operating a cash register.
  • Balancing the opening/closing cash reports.
  • Cleaning and maintaining the bar.
  • Serving food during functions.
  • Washing dishes as required.
  • Other related duties.

“All Shook Up” Opening Night Gala – Nov. 10

Make your night extraordinary and attend the pre-show Gala with hors d’oeuvres, wine, and hot beverages. “The Party Bus” will chauffer all guests to All Shook Up Herald AdThe Arts and Culture Center for, All Shook Up, the main event. Post musical, guests are chauffeured back to The Fluvarium for desserts, coffee, and the opportunity to converse with the cast and producers of the show.

The Quidi Vidi/Rennie’s River Development Foundation, in co-operation with the Stoker’s Group of Rotary, and the Cultural Affairs Division of the Dept. of Tourism, Recreation and Culture, are producing the musical All Shook Up from November 10 to November 13, 2016 at the Arts and Culture Centre.

Proceeds from this production will support the Foundation’s projects and initiatives. It is through educating “the next generation” that we are making a significant contribution to the preservation of our environment – especially our water resources.

You are invited to participate in an opening night gala on November 10, 2016. Beginning with a pre-performance reception at 6:30 p.m. with hors d’oeuvres, wine and hot beverages following which guests will be chauffeured to and from the Arts and Culture Centre by The Party Bus. After the performance guests will gather for desserts and coffee to meet some of the cast and producers at The Suncor Energy Fluvarium.

The QVRRDF is a not-for-profit, charitable organization formed in 1985 to restore and enhance the area along Rennie’s River and Quidi Vidi Lake. Through education, advocacy and stewardship the Foundation continues to inspire the protection, conservation and enhancement of freshwater ecosystems. The QVRRDF operates The Suncor Energy Fluvarium as a public centre for environmental excellence.

Do you have a creative mind? Like to network? Have a love for the Environment? The Quidi Vidi/Rennie’s River Development Foundation is presently seeking a Communications/Fundraising Manager.

The QVRRDF through education, advocacy and stewardship inspires the protection, conservation and enhancement of freshwater ecosystems of the Northeast Avalon region of Newfoundland and Labrador.  The QVRRDF operates The Suncor Energy Fluvarium as a public centre for environmental excellence.

Reporting directly to the General Manager, you would take the lead in marketing the many aspects of The Fluvarium’s products and services. Help run and maximize the exposure on all of our internal and joint events. You would be responsible to attend networking events, apply for funds, communications and assisting the general manager as needed.

This posting is for a salaried full-time position.

Responsibilities will include:

  • General marketing
  • Public Relations
  • Social Media management
  • Proposal and grant writing
  • Attend Networking Events
  • Assisting with the running of internal events
  • Managing a small marketing budget
